This March residents of Washington, D.C. are in luck, because they have the opportunity to participate in Saint Pat’s Run Fest 5K and 10K! This collection of races taking place on March 15 is a long-running tradition in D.C. that is full of fun for every participant. The course map, which can be found online, displays a gorgeous and scenic trail for the runners to take under the shadow of the famous Washington Monument. Along the trail following Independence Ave and Ohio Drive, there will be water stations and restrooms. After the race several activities will be held featuring adult beverages. Participants often wear eccentric, Irish-themed outfits to celebrate the holiday while they run!
In addition to the 5K and 10K there are double and triple challenges where all finishers are awarded a medal for their hard work. If that’s not enough running for the weekend there’s a four-mile race taking place in Arlington the day before. The proceeds from the race support Ainsley’s Angels. There will be no opportunity to sign up the morning of, so reserving online prior to the race is highly encouraged. Find the finish line at the end of the rainbow.
